Cases

Nouns are marked for Accusative, Genitive, Dative, Locative, Instrumental, Vocative, and Ablative cases by suffix.

Nominative: no affix required
Accusative: -(k)in
Genitive: -(m)os
Dative: -(d)ion
Locative: -(a)ža
Instrumental: -(u)kos
Vocative: -(a)la
Ablative: -(e)lhun

The ablative is used for specifying a time in which something happened, more or less than something, or movement away from something.
Additionally, Afaarmiša has a diminutive and augmentative infix. These infixes are placed between the first and second syllable.

Diminutive: -yam-
Augmentative: -očal-

Other than this, Afaarmiša lacks any gender, plural, or topic marker.

Articles

Afaarmiša lacks an indefinite article, so any noun without the definite article is indefinite by default. The definite article is a prefix sa- that is added before any other prefixes.

Nouns can have other affixes attached to modify the meaning.
